Another last inning softball loss
It's like a broken record in this blog! Unfortunately, we gave away too many easy outs and managed to lose once again in the last inning. This time, 10-8. We've lost four of our last six by one run, and the other two were by two runs. I'm not sure, but I think five of them were lost in the last inning. I played OK, with a hit and our team's first run, as well as one outfield catch. Now we enter the loser's bracket. Perhaps losing is just a scheme for our team to play more games!

Dog Whisperer
We watched three hours of back-to-back-to-back Dog Whisperer last night. We are interested in putting some of these new techniques into use! The key seems to be keeping the dogs calm at all times by staying calm and assertive yourself. He makes it sound a lot easier than it is! Sometimes watching the show I just want to yell at him for making it look so easy. I did make some progress this morning, regarding Hank's barking at other dogs. You have to be real quick with the correction, or Hank gets very excited very quickly!

Loving the T60p
I got a new laptop at work, the Lenovo Thinkpad T60p. Beautiful, beautiful machine! The screen is even an inch bigger than my previous laptop. Yay for capital budgets!

Softball cancelled again
This time due to the threat of lightning. That's impressive, isn't it? In other news, the heat index reached 108 degrees today with an actual temperature of 100. The extreme heat is causing record levels of power consumption in North Carolina, and our power actually went off today due to the excess load.

Who's up on my roof?
The roofers, of course! They started work today on replacing our entire roof. Looks like they are making good progress. This better make the leaks go away :-)

Another walk-off softball loss
We lost tonight on the last batter of the game, again, this time with two outs! It was an abysmal hitting night for the team in general, and me specifically. We scored only 8 runs in 7 innings and I went hitless, even though I felt good about a few of my swings. Oh well, playoffs start Thursday!
