Co-ed soccer: On a roll?
In a back and forth effort, we repeated last week's effort of a 3-3 tie sealed with a tying goal in the last minute. What are we, the Comeback Kids now? It's good to go into the playoffs on a non-losing streak and playing our best soccer of the season. My favorite highlight from last night was running down a ball that bounced over our goalkeeper and punting it from the field before it went into the goal. Glad I connected on it this week after missing the same play last week!

Co-ed soccer: Losing streak snapped!
In a back and forth effort, we managed to escape with a 3-3 tie. I added my second goal of the season with about two minutes left to knot things up. In typical Yuengling fashion, we are playing stronger in the second half of the season than the first. What will the playoffs hold?

Men's soccer: Reversing a trend
Reversing a trend of losing, that is! We squared off against the other winless team in the league last night in wet conditions. Rain in the previous hour prompted a few of our players to stay home, meaning we played a man short for the entire game. Despite letting our opponents score their first goal of the season, we controlled almost the entire game, winning 6-1. Good to be back in the Wins column!

Effort is not a myth

Co-ed soccer: Close but no cigar
We got out to a 1-0 lead before succumbing in a 3-1 defeat. Still, we played a great game which could have gone either way. Still winless on the year... obviously saving it for the playoffs!

Men's soccer: Ugh
In a very winnable game, we played lazy and selfish to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-1 defeat. In a small bright spot, I stopped another penalty kick.

Co-ed soccer: Goal! Goal! Goal!
Our co-ed soccer team put three balls in the back of the oppositions' net, a great accomplishment considering they were the defending #1 and many-times-over league champion. It was only slightly dampening that they put seven in our goal! Still, maybe our team is finally turning the corner! I was also glad to notch my first goal in over two years, a header off of a perfect corner kick from Sergio.

Men's soccer: Wherefore art the regulars?
It's tough to win when you only have one of your regular defenders. A patchwork crew of subs and out-of-position forwards did their best, but we limped to a 5-2 defeat. I'm out of town next week, so I am sure they will win their first game without me, just like they did last year! I still like our chances if we could just get our regular group to show up.
