The Super Bowl happened in someone's backyard
Well, not really. But it's a pretty slick copy!

Ouch!
I'm going to the physical therapist right now for a sore knee. It appears to be a strain of the LCL and a small tear on the lateral meniscus. So far the prognosis is just to keep going to PT. Hopefully I can avoid surgery.

Level 30
Who would have ever believed it? I achieved Level 30 in Halo 3 by virtue of this game. It was an epic battle to climb those ranks.

The Law of Unintended Consequences
From a Marginal Revolution post on The Law of Unintended Consequences comes this great point: "... when regulation pushes against incentives, incentives tend to push back creating unintended consequences".

A very doggy Christmas tale
Although I wasn't there for any of it, I imagine this is how things went before the dog-sitter arrived on Christmas afternoon.

Hank and Scout slept in on Christmas day until about noon. They'd had a rough couple of days before that, filled with lengthy power naps and the occasional turn at Neighborhood Watch. After waking up, they decided to exchange Christmas presents. Scout gave Hank some of her Kibbles (which he loved), then she gave him a good grooming (which he hated). Hank gave Scout one of her own bones that he had stolen from her the night before (which thrilled her). Then they decided to take down the Christmas decorations.

Hank started tugging at the tree with his teeth, while Scout tugged at the lights on the tree. She quickly realized she would not know where to put the lights once she got them off, so she helpfully decided to eat them instead. After consuming parts of three light bulbs and a foot of the wire, her tummy revolted into small piles on the rug.

The happy ending is that the dogs are both OK now.
