800 miles later
After a 19.4 mile/1:28 bike ride tonight, my bike and I are up to 800 miles together this year. It's been a lot of fun so far.

Co-ed soccer: 3-0 loss to #1 team
We played defending champion MLA tonight, and we were neck and neck for 30 minutes. Unfortunately the games are 40 minutes. After they broke the 0-0 tie, they were able to squeeze in two more goals before time expired. I think we will be competitive with them if we meet up in the playoffs. That's likely, because so far they are ranked #1 and we are ranked #2!

A tiring beginners ride
Bicycling is a little harder when you've run the prior day. Last night was the hardest 20 mile beginner ride I've done! (in 1:24)

Running again?
I got on the treadmill tonight to see how far I could run, and ended up doing 8 miles in 84 minutes, my longest run since the marathon in May. I'll be sore tomorrow!

Men's soccer: Aaaiiiiyyyyeeeeeee!
We suffered through a two minute stretch where we played horrible and hardly touched the ball, giving up three quick goals in the process. Overall score was a 5-1 loss, including a promising second half where we scored one and gave up one. The team is still jelling together and is showing some improvement, so hopefully we can have a stronger second half of the season and playoffs.

Soccer: Co-ed thrilling victory
Last night was one of those games that reminded you why you play sports. It was a tough back-and-forth game. At halftime we clung to a 1-0 lead. After several chances by both teams, the opposition took a hard shot from 12 yards that I luckily jumped in front of. Soon after that, our forwards got past the defense on a breakaway and put in another goal. A 2-0 victory that easily could have gone another direction.

Back on the wagon, er, bike
I rode with the Cycling Spoken Here group last night, my first bike ride in about a month. I was a little out of form but did OK, and even did a little leading. We had to cut the route short because it was getting dark, so we totaled about 18 miles in 1:22.
