Experimental software

The experiment used a special Tcl/Tk file to serve as an environment. The file covered the screen with a neutral gray, except a "Go" button centered on the screen. The "Go" button displays a random (without replacement) telephone every time it is clicked. The environment also logs phone start and end times, start being at the "Go" click and end when the phone is closed. The phones themselves have been modified so that they display on the center of the screen.

The software MAY NOT WORK AS IS, because there are pathnames hardcoded into the file. The file "data.txt" is used as an output file, so set the location yourself. In addition, make sure the "exec" line has the correct path to your Tcl/Tk executable.

Files:

phone_manager.tcl - The script to run the experiment environment.
phones.txt - A list of the telephones and filenames.
end-of-subject.doc - Convenient file to display on the screen at the end of a trial, to differentiate eye-tracking subjects on a videotape.
